What Our Orthopedic QME Clients Experience
● Reduction in no-shows and cancellations through proactive scheduling and follow-up
● Less time on report writing and editing due to pre-appointment preparation and high-level QME editing support
● No administrative tasks that land on your desk — we handle scheduling, records, billing, collections, and compliance
The QME Day Shouldn't Look Like This
Too many orthopaedic QME practices lose time and revenue to the same preventable problems:
● Appointments without complete records or histories, forcing the doctor to spend exam time gathering information
● No-shows and late cancellations that leave gaps in an already tight schedule
● Report drafts that require hours of physician correction
● Billing and collections handled inconsistently, leaving money on the table
● DWC compliance requirements that change and create liability if missed
These aren't just frustrations — they're profit leaks. UME closes them.
How UME Prepares You Before the Appointment
Most QME management companies focus on what happens after the exam. We focus on what happens before it — because a well-prepared appointment is a faster, more efficient, and more defensible appointment.
Records Organized for Quick Review
Medical records are organized and excerpted prior to each appointment to support the physician's review. Rather than sorting through hundreds of pages under time pressure, the doctor can conduct a focused, thorough review of the relevant records before and during the exam.
Applicant History
Our trained workers' compensation historians complete a preliminary history intake prior to the appointment. This gives the physician a structured starting point for their own review and discussion with the applicant during the exam — ensuring nothing is missed and the history is thorough and well-documented.
Scheduling Built Around Your Efficiency
We group appointments strategically to eliminate downtime and stack your day for maximum productivity. Combined with aggressive follow-up to reduce no-shows, your schedule stays full and your time is protected.

Who We Work With
UME works exclusively with California QME physicians. Our team understands the workers' compensation system, the DWC regulatory framework, and the specific demands of QME practice — including the complexity and case volume that comes with orthopaedic surgery.
We currently serve orthopaedic surgeons, chiropractors, and primary care QMEs across California. Our clients range from physicians just starting their QME practice to established evaluators processing high monthly case volumes.
No Risk. No Upfront Cost.
Our business model is designed to align with yours — we succeed when you succeed. There are no setup fees, no monthly retainers, and no long-term contracts required to get started.
To learn more about how our fees work, schedule a strategy session and we'll walk you through everything transparently.
